As you can see, Mitsubishi did a good job of reducing weight. This is just a guide for how much/little weight you can remove by ditching certain parts. Note how much more the Optima weighs compared to the smaller battery, and regular batteries weigh even more. The seats, spare tire, and wheels seem to be the most obvious place to start.

For example, remove the following: Passenger seat (36), Coupe door panels (11.5), Trunk floor+carpet (5.5), Jack (4.5), Glove box (4.5), Floor mats (3), Spare Tire (22), Power steering sysem(10), Catalytic Converter (10 - replace with 5# test pipe), Muffler (20 - replace with 10# aftermarket muffler), Lighter battery (let's say 10# lighter), Lighter rims (let's say 5# lighter each)

This adds up to 142# - The AC and Airbag systems are big ones too if this is a race-only vehicle
